NEET, AIIMS AND JIPMER
NTA (national testing agency) conducts NEET (national eligibility cum entrance test) for admission to MBBS, BDS, ayush, veterinary and other paramedical courses in India. NEET is the sole entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in India, conducted annually (160 test centres with approximately 16 lakh aspirants). AIIMS and JIPMER examinations have also been merged with NTA-NEET. Collectively 76,928 MBBS medical seats will be offered in 532 government as well as private colleges of India on the basis of NEET score. As many as 272 government medical colleges offers a total of 41,388 MBBS government medical seats through NEET 2020 (as per official data by medical council of india).
NEET EXAMINATION PATTERN
duration of examination (3 hours), examination pattern (pen and paper-based), number of questions (total 180 questions with maximum 720 marks, 45 questions from physics, 45 questions from chemistry and 90 questions from biology i.e. weightage of biology is 50%), marking scheme (+4 marks for each correct answer, -1 mark for each wrong answer and 0 mark for each unanswered question) and aggregate score calculation by 4R-W.
